Passion for Making Music
I've dedicated my life to studying and creating music with over 28 years of playing and performing experience. I write my own music and perform regularly online and in my area.
Passion for Teaching
I love what I do, and it shows. For over 15 years I have helped hundreds of students achieve their musical goals, and now I want to help you too!
Passion for Technology
Technology keeps our world connected and I like to stay up-to-date with the latest gear and methods. A fully equipped audio and video studio translates to an excellent online lesson experience as well as the ability to create professional recordings and compositions.
Music Lessons
Are you looking for a music instructor for yourself or a family member? I provide online lessons on guitar, ukulele and bass.
Guitar Lessons
The guitar has been my principle instrument for over 28 years, and I am fluent in many styles and genres including rock, metal, blues, alternative, folk, country, and classical. I will help you improve your skills and achieve your goals on this popular instrument.
Ukulele Lessons
A great choice for beginning and young musicians, the ukulele is a fun and accessible instrument with enough depth for all ages and skill levels. Learn chords, and how to strum, and soon you'll be starting your own sing-a-long!
Bass Lessons
Every great rhythm section depends on a solid bass player. Learn the fundamentals and how to apply them on this classic instrument. I teach beginner through intermediate bass, and I will help you find the groove you need to improve.
Why choose online lessons?
Recent world events have forced us all to adapt our lives to a new reality. The benefits of online music lessons are starting to outweigh their competition and people are finding they love the freedom and flexibility they offer.
Safety
Whether we like it or not, the entire world has changed with the Covid-19 pandemic. Online lessons allow students to develop their skills while practicing 100% safe social distancing.
Focus
Online lessons allow for a more focused and organized experience. Lesson materials are easily shared via cloud technology. With video clips, students can revisit topics at their own pace.
Comfort
Online lessons allow for a more comfortable experience. You choose the room, lighting, seating, and climate for your lesson room. Sweatpants and flip-flops? Go for it!
Flexibility
Online lessons allow for greater flexibility in a busy work week by eliminating travel times. That's time you can spend with your friends and family, or with your instrument practicing!

Testimonials
I’ve been taking music lessons from Chris for almost three years. He makes the lessons interesting and challenging but tailors them to my skill level. And as an older beginning music student, I especially appreciate his unfailing encouragement and patience.

Our son Wyatt has taken lessons from Chris for 8 years - learning electric, acoustic, bass, and classical guitar, along with music theory and song-writing. Chris has a way of knowing how to tailor his teaching to his student's musical taste and personality. He continues to push Wyatt to expand his technical and creative limits with every lesson. His knowledge of how to challenge Wyatt in each stage of his musical development has been the thing we have been most impressed with - Wyatt is never bored! Chris is the BEST!

"We are the music makers, and we are the dreamers of dreams." - Arthur O'Shaughnessy
I first picked up the guitar at the age of twelve and learned to play the opening riff to Nirvana's "Smells like Teen Spirit". It changed my life.
About Me
Here in the Ozarks, we have a rich tradition of celebrating music. Growing up, nearly all my friends were musicians, and we spent much of our youth learning and playing music in garages, basements and bedrooms.
My early fascination with the guitar and rock music expanded to include country, blues, jazz, and folk, as well as classical guitar while attending MSU.
I began teaching guitar at a music store circa 2005, and since then have worked with hundreds of students over the years. The Covid-19 pandemic changed everything in March of 2020, and I quickly adapted an online approach to teaching my students. I had no idea how much I was going to love teaching online! The focus, freedom and flexibility offered with online lessons led to my decision to start my own business. Fast forward a few months and Maydash Music was born!
When I'm not making music, I enjoy reading, movies, kayaking, and photography.
